2025 Foundation (Prep) Enrolment

This year all primary schools in the Inner East and Outer East areas of the North East Victoria Region are using a new online system for future enrolments in Government Schools.  Mulgrave Primary School will be using this online system which will become active from Monday 15 April (the start of term 2).

The online system will be available for parents who are applying to enrol their child in Foundation (Prep).  An application form can be completed on laptops, PC’s and mobile phones. The online system will also allow you to upload documents such as proof of residential address, immunisation history and birth certificate.

It is important to note that the placement policy is followed by all government schools. You can view the Placement policy. Your chances of being offered a place in the schools you apply for are not advantaged or disadvantaged by using this system.

Victorian government school enrolments for Foundation (Prep) for the 2025 school year will open from Monday 15 April 2024, the start of Term 2. Families are asked to submit enrolment applications (online) by Friday 26 July 2024.

The link to apply for a place online at this school will be available on this site from the beginning of Term 2 (April 15).

Families can also register their interest to enrol with Mulgrave Primary School by contacting the office on 9795 2477 and leaving their details. Tours are also available from February to June (see Tours section below).

We will email the link to families who have registered or attended a tour once the link becomes available.

Enrolments Timeline

Priority Order of Placement

Eligible children and young persons have the right to be admitted to their designated neighbourhood government school, regardless of capacity.

In circumstances when a school may not be able to accept all applications due to existing or future capacity concerns, schools must manage enrolment applications in accordance with the following priority order of placement:

1.  students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time

2.  all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

The Mulgrave Primary School zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au.

Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2022 onwards.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
